New bus bays for Craigieburn Station

The Victorian Government recognises the important role buses play in meeting the travel needs of people living in Melbourne’s outer suburbs.

That’s why we’re upgrading the Craigieburn Station Bus Interchange to ensure critical transport infrastructure meets Victoria’s future operational and safety needs.

Why are we upgrading the Craigieburn Station Bus Interchange?

Melbourne is growing and we’re adding more capacity to our transport network to provide more services and reliability for passengers.

We delivered two new bus bays at the Craigieburn Station Bus Interchange in April 2023 to give public transport users a better connection between their train and local bus services.

As part of the next stage of works we’re constructing three new bus bays within the existing interchange on Walters Street and two new bus bays on Potter Street.

Each bus bay will have a new bus shelter and passenger information display.

We’re also upgrading lighting and CCTV to improve safety for passengers and the local community.

These changes will improve connectivity between bus and rail services and support continued growth in Craigieburn and the broader Hume area.

When will works take place?

Construction is expected to begin in August 2023. We’ll update the community again ahead of works taking place.
